Javier Batlle

Managing Partner  | Chief Executive OfficeR

Javier founded Okami in 2020 and has been involved in all aspects of the company’s development since it was founded.

He was previously part of BlackRock’s European hostel acquisition program, also worked as director in charge of the hospitality advisory team for Spain and Portugal at Christie & Co and was jointly responsible for real estate investment and asset management activities for a family office.

He holds a BSc in Hotel Management from Ramon Llull University, an MBA from EADA Business School and the Pepperdine University of Los Angeles (USA), a PDP in Real Estate and Hotel Investments from Cornell University (USA), and a master-level course and certificate from the Program on Negotiation (PON) at Harvard Law School.

Elwin Meijvis

Senior Partner | Chief Operating Officer

Elwin is joint responsibility for the day-to-day management of the portfolio with a focus on operations and asset transformation.

He has more than 15 years of hotel operational expertise managing hotels and hostels across Europe. During his career, he has specialized in driving incremental revenue through alternative revenue streams, optimizing cost structures, and restructuring teams, as well as overlooking marketing strategies and sales initiatives. He was BlackRock’s European hostel program Operations Director, and, prior to this, he was Area General Manager in Spain for Generator Hostels, as well as Development Director and Cluster General Manager DACH & BENELUX at Hotusa and Director of Operations at Marriott International.

Elwin holds a BSc in Hospitality Management from Saxion University of Applied Sciences.

Yago Díaz

Partner | Administration and Finance

Specialized in hotel administration and financial controlling. Yago is responsible of managing the financial and administrative processes across the business.

He has developed his entire career within the hotel industry, working in the areas of finance and administration for both national and international hotel groups. Before joining Okami, he was responsible for finance at BlackRock’s European hostel acquisition program, as well as Head of Administration at Selenta Group and Financial Controller at TUI.

Yago holds a BSc in Business Administration from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona, a master’s degree in financial management from EAE Business School, and a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University (USA).

Pol Fabregat

Partner | Portfolio Management and Legal

Pol is an expert in due diligence, investment analysis, feasibility studies, and hotel valuations. He plays a crucial role in evaluating new investment opportunities, guiding strategic decisions that impact the portfolio, and overseeing key legal matters, including HMA negotiations and other strategic agreements related to hotels in the portfolio and new acquisitions.

 

Before joining Okami, Pol worked at Christie & Co, where he was involved in due diligence processes for major national and international institutional investors and private equity firms across Spain, Portugal, and Italy. He also served as an expert witness, lending his expertise to support various legal and financial matters in the hospitality sector.

 

Pol holds a BSc in Hotel Management from Ramon Llull University and an International master’s in management from EADA Business School. He also holds a certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University.

Pol Amills

Partner | Transactions and Special Situations 

Specialized in acquisitions and asset management within special situations and opportunistic investments, Pol is responsible for origination, transactions execution and work-out strategies.

With 10 years of experience in real estate M&A across Iberia, Pol has worked with a broad range of asset classes. He led the special situations investment and asset management team at the Spanish operating partner Urban Input Group, where he acquired and managed c.€600m in AUM, partnering with several top-tier capital partners. His track record includes leading complex negotiations and unlocking challenging situations to reposition premium assets and create value.

Pol holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from UPC and an International Executive MBA from ESADE Business School. He chaired the Barcelona chapter of Urban Land Institute YL until 2022.

Noelia Lastra

Associate Partner | Operations and Transformation

Noelia is responsible for the day-to-day operational decisions of the assets under management. She also co-leads asset transformation, from design, project management and capex to the hotel openings.

She has spent her whole professional career within the international hotel industry. Before joining Okami, she was responsible for operations at Generator Hotels, leading department heads and taking full responsibility of financial results.

Noelia holds a BSc in Hotel Management from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona, and a master’s degree in Hotel Management from EAE Business School-Ostelea.
